Hearing assessment in infants and children: recommendations beyond neonatal screening

Aims: This clinical report replaces the previous 2003 clinical report and seeks to promote a proactive, consistent, and explicit process for the early identification of children with hearing loss in the medical home. To assist in the detection and documentation of and intervention for hearing loss, an algorithm of the recommended approach with key points has been developed (Fig 1), as have several tables.
