Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is an evidence-based therapy for the management of persistent pain. It aims to treat patients with chronic pain both physically and psychologically. These recommendations provide guidance to practitioners delivering the treatment and also provide a resource for those who fund this therapy.

April 2009 The Chair of the publication working group has considered the review of this publication and as no new evidence is currently available the guidelines still stand. The publication is under reviews as from Spring 2015.
