Abstract

Aims:  The 2005 International consensus on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiovascular care science with treatment recommendations (CoSTR) summarises the scientific evidence supporting all aspects of resuscitation. A new cycle of evidence evaluation has begun which is expected to be completed in 2010 with the publication of new and revised treatment recommendations. This statement identifies knowledge gaps and research priorities which can be incorporated into the 2010 evidence evaluation process. The following topics have been highlighted as research priorities:

  • Resuscitation of adults, children, and neonates
  • Acute coronary syndromes
  • Stroke
  • First aid
