Abstract

A good practice example which shows how having youth workers based within the social work pods in Windsor and Maidenhead is improving the engagement of young people and having a positive impact on their outcomes. The example looks at changes at senior management level, how the new structure operates for frontline workers, and what the young people felt about the changes. Outcomes for young people include: young people engaging in their own care planning; establishing wishes and feelings of young people where parents are reluctant to engage; and young people having a better understanding of services available to them and how to access them.
