Abstract

This document deals with the handling of specimens in relation to non-neoplastic lesions of  the head and neck, and replaces the previous versions of the tissue pathway. The purpose of the document is to assist cellular pathologists to provide a high standard of care for patients in the reporting of benign head and neck specimens. The tissue pathways are important as they provide a consistent approach to managing histological samples in head and neck pathology, highlighting ancillary techniques when appropriate.
