Aims: Early recognition of meningitis and septicaemia is vital in ensuring appropriate treatment in order to save lives and reduce morbidity. This resource provides guidance for frontline nurses to help recognise vital signs to detect the underlying symptoms of meningococcal disease, and bacterial sepsis and meningitis in general. It was designed as a handy card to fit inside the uniform pocket.
