Abstract

Staff across primary care services - General Practitioners (GPs), practice managers and practice nurses, health visitors and, in Wales, Local Primary Mental Health Support Services (LPMHSS) - all provide a vital contribution to supporting people with mental health problems. This report largely focusses on the training needs of GPs and practice nurses in a GP practice setting and the support they receive for their own mental health.. In developing this report we have sought the views and experiences of a wide range of people, including people who have received support from GP practices for their mental health as well as the people delivering their care.
