Abstract

Our new report shows that there is a continued postcode lottery of cataract treatment across England which is forcing NHS patients to live with avoidable sight loss. RNIB believes patients should be able to access cataract treatment without delay and based on their clinical need. We urge all CCGs to implement The Royal College of Ophthalmologists cataract commissioning guidance to ensure patients are given the best and most appropriate care, in a timely manner.
