The Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) is a tool for identifying areas of poverty and inequality across Scotland. It can help organisations invest in those areas that need it most. Previous SIMDs were published in 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2012. This booklet is the Statistical Bulletin for SIMD16. It includes a quick introduction to SIMD, case studies of third sector organisations working in deprived areas and the people who experience deprivation, as well as the key findings of SIMD16 using illustrations.
