NIHR Signal: E-cigarettes helped more smokers quit than nicotine replacement therapy

Expert commentary is provided for an RCT which found that 18% given e-cigarettes were abstinent from smoking vs 9.9% for nicotine replacement therapy. E-cigarettes are considerably less harmful than smoking, so switching to vaping is likely to bring substantial health gains.
